About Me

Working With Your Lawyer

About ten years ago, I was involved in a bad car accident. Another driver, who happened to be driving drunk at the time, smashed into the car I was driving. In addition to killing my daughter, the accident also left me paralyzed from the waist down. Although the case should have been cut and dry, the insurance company claimed that I was at fault. Fortunately, I worked with a lawyer who was able to fight my case for me. Without his help, I would still be paying off medical bills. I want to spread the word about the good that lawyers can do, which is why I created this website.

How To Know If You Are In Need Of A Personal Injury Lawyer

Not everyone wants to automatically start calling lawyers if they have been injured in an accident. However, there may come a point where this is exactly what you have to do. Make sure that you are taking a moment to reflect on the following reasons you might want to go ahead and call a personal injury lawyer. This way, you will never have to find yourself second guessing your decisions.

The Accident Caused You To Miss A Lot Of Work

Missing a single day of work on the day of the accident is one thing. After all, you might have some personal days left, which meant that you might have even still received pay for that day. However, if the accident caused you to miss a lot of work, or will possibly cause you to continue missing work, you might want to speak to a skilled personal injury lawyer. There is no reason you should go without pay from all of the days that someone else caused you to miss.

The Medical Expenses Are Exceeding What Your Insurance Will Cover

Sure, you might have medical insurance, but what about all of the deductibles, co-insurance, and co-payments that you will have to make? Do you have enough money to cover all of that? Even if you do, you may not feel that it is fair for you to pay for everything that was caused by the negligence of someone else. A skilled personal injury lawyer can not only figure out all of your current medical bills, but how much you might have to spend in the future, especially if your injuries will require long term care and attention.

You Are Starting To Get Calls From Other Lawyers Or Insurance Companies

If there are people calling from insurance companies and law firms that do not represent you, you need to think about getting your own lawyer. After all, the last thing you want to do is to end up signing paperwork that you do not fully understand. There are insurance companies that will hope that you are not talking to a lawyer so that they can get you to either sign papers indicating that you are forfeiting your right to sue or that you are agreeing to a settlement that is much smaller than you deserve.

As you can see, there are a few good signs that should indicate to you that you are in need of a quality personal injury lawyer (such as one from Pressé Mason Barristers Personal Injury Lawyers). Just make sure that you are not speaking to any insurance companies or other lawyers until you have retained your own legal representation.
